
BCCS was the only first-time winner in 2002 of a prestigious Philadelphia
Music Project grant (awarded by the Pew Charitable Trusts) for its 30th
anniversary commission of Robert Maggio's Rachel and her Children - Small
Hands Relinquish All. In 1993, BCCS received the Lifetime Achievement Award for the Arts in Bucks County, PA. The group
has made four tours of Europe and a tour of the Baltic, and has performed twice at the National Cathedral in Washington
D.C., most recently in 2000. The choir also performed at the 1999 American Choral Directors Association convention, and
at Philadelphia's Mann Music Center for the Inaugural Marion Anderson Award Gala in 1998. BCCS has produced a
compact disk recording in each of the last six years.
From July 1st, 2007 until July 10th, 2007, the Bucks County Choral Society was on its 6th European Tour. The choir visited Romania, Hungary, and Slovenia. To learn more about the trip, please vist our travelogue.
