Bucks County Choral Society's 5th annual Singing for Seniors Fall Workshop will be held
Thursday, October 15, 2009, from 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM at Andrews Hall in the Doylestown Presbyterian Church. This event will once again be under the direction of Helen Kemp and Tom Lloyd. Anyone who enjoys singing, or even thinks they might enjoy singing and would like to give it a try, is invited to attend. Participants need not be associated with any organized choir to take part in the program for this day.
The program will begin with Dr. Kemp introducing and leading appropriate vocal warmup exercises. The rest of the morning will then be spent learning two songs as directed by both Helen and Tom. After lunch, Richard Gaylord, a guest tenor soloist, will offer a program featuring a unique blend of songs about life and love. Mr. Gaylord, who has recently relocated to this area, has been a featured artist with the Cleveland Opera, the Ohio Arts Council and in various churches throughout the Midwest. The seniors workshop will then conclude with the participants performing the songs they learned in the morning session.
Cost of the workshop is $15, which covers the cost of lunch, music and program expenses. Anyone who wishes to be a part this day is invited to contact Phyllis Sexton at 215 345-7625 or via email at pfsexton@verizon.net to obtain a registration form or more information. A registration form and additional information can also be found on our website (www.buckschoral.org). The deadline for submitting a registration is October 5, 2009.
