In a concert season of collaboration from beginning to end, the Bucks County Choral Society will next be merging music and art during their upcoming annual Christmas concerts on December 11,12, and 13. The Choral Society's Christmas 2009 concerts highlight composer Matthew Harris' setting of poet Dylan Thomas' delightful remembrance
A Child’s Christmas in Wales, with scenes from the story supported by projected original illustrations from outstanding New Hope-Solebury High School and Middle School student artists.
The Choral Society's program, with music from both the full chorus and from the BCCS Chamber Choir, also includes a variety of English carol arrangements, the
Hallelujah Chorus, and the choir's traditional sing-alongs to bring out the season's best. Concerts will be held on Friday, December 11 at 8:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lansdale, and on Saturday, December 12 at 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, December 13 at 4:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Doylestown. Preludes featuring area groups and soloists begin one half hour before each performance - prelude performers include brass, strings, and vocal soloists.
BCCS Christmas concerts have steadily grown into a cherished Bucks County tradition, and tickets for both Doylestown performances tend to sell out quickly. Concert-goers are urged to purchase their tickets well in advance to ensure seating.
