Schütz – Musicalische Exequien
Britten – Jubilate Deo
Britten – Rejoice in the Lamb
BCCS' season opening concert spans the centuries and covers the
European continent, featuring one of the early Baroque period's great
works - Heinrich Schütz'
Musicalishe Exequien for chamber choir,
vocal soloists, and organ. This fascinating early composition is
complimented by two 20th century favorites from English composer
Benjamin Britten -
Jubilate Deo and
Rejoice in the Lamb, based on the
uniquely spiritual writings of Christopher Smart.
