Amy is the Group Executive Director of the Statistical Analysis and Psychometric Research unit at the Educational Testing Service, and is responsible for all of the psychometric work performed for the College Board and for the Higher Education Programs.
After obtaining a B.A. in Environmental Elementary Education from Queens College in New York City, Amy began her professional career as a first grade teacher, and taught in New York for three years before attending graduate school full time. She holds a M.A. and Ph.D. in Educational Psychology (with a concentration in quantitative psychology) from the Graduate School and University Center of the City University of New York. She began her measurement career as the lead psychometrician at the National League for Nursing, and joined the College Board in 1998 as an Associate Research Scientist in the Research and Development unit. Amy spent nine years at the College Board in increasingly more responsible positions, culminating in an appointment as the Executive Director of Higher Education Research, where she oversaw the research psychometric aspects of the development of the new SAT Reasoning Test that was introduced in 2005. She joined ETS in 2006.
In addition to her work activities, Amy is also very active in the measurement profession. She is currently the Secretary for Division 5, the Measurement, Evaluation and Statistics Division, of the American Psychological Society and serves as an Associate Editor of the journal, Applied Measurement in Education. She has served as a member of the Board of the Association of Test Publishers, as program chair for the National Council of Measurement in Education, and as program chair for Division 5 of the American Psychological Association. She has taught courses in statistics, research methods, and classroom assessments, primarily to graduate students, throughout her career. In her spare time, Amy enjoys singing – with BCCS, of course! – and spending lots of quality time with her three young nephews. She currently lives in Doylestown, Pennsylvania with her fiancé and fellow choir member, Seth Weiner.
