2015-2016 Fall Concert
Music From Around The World
Sunday, October 25th, 2015 at 4:00 PM
Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, Doylestown PA (directions to church)
Tickets: $23 in advance, $28 at the door
A program of exciting, moving, and diverse music from around the world, built around a composite setting of the Latin mass with a Kyrie by Norwegian composer Ola Gjeilo, the Gloria from the Misa Criolla, (Argentina), the Sanctus from the Missa Luba (Congo), and Australian composer Stephen Leek's setting of the Agnus Dei. In place of the Credo, the choir will perform the iconic Totus Tuus composed by Polish composer Henryk Górecki for Pope John Paul II.
The program will also feature works by Philadelphia composers Andrea Clearfield (from her Tso Go La (Tibet)) and Chan Kai-Young (Cantonese). We are also excited to be able to share with our audience unpublished works from Ghana and Turkey unknown in the West. This will be a program of music that soars, dances, and transports us to the spiritual imaginations of people from around the world!
